Have you given any thought to what you could do with friends before going home for the holidays.

Easter falls on the weekend of Good Friday 19th April, until Monday 21st April this year. It may be a few weeks off, but this will give you the opportunity to mention it to friends, and have everything in place.

I suspect many of you will be going home for the holiday. However, the week leading up to Easter is a great opportunity to meet up with your friends before you all go our separate ways for the Easter break.

Why not have a look at what’s on in the week or so before, and enjoy yourselves before the hard work starts again in late April.

There are a few things you could look at. Why not start off by looking at what’s on at Edgehill itself?

The University Arts Centre have a couple of shows available on the 11th and 13th April. The cost is only £5 per show for students, and would be an ideal time to “chill” with friends. The Arts Centre can be contacted on 01695 584480, or alternatively, further details can be seen on their website.

On Thursday 11th April at 7pm, the Arts Centre is showing All About Eve. This stars Gillian Anderson (X Files fame), and Lily James (Mamma Mia fame), and is being broadcast live to cinemas from the West End of London. This tells the story of Margo Channing. A Legend! A true star of the theatre! The spotlight is hers, always has been. But now there’s Eve. Her biggest fan. The golden girl, the girl next door.

On Saturday 13th April at 8pm, the Centre is presenting The Simon & Garfunkel Story. This is the UK’s biggest most successful Simon and Garfunkel theatre show with a full live band. Featuring a full cast of talented actor- musicians, ‘The Simon and Garfunkel Story’ takes you back through the ‘Groovy’ times of the 1960s. It tells the story of both Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel from their humble beginnings as Rock ‘n’ Roll duo Tom And Jerry, right through their massive success, dramatic break-up and finishing with a stunning recreation of the 1981 Central Park reformation concert.

Using a huge projection screen, the show features both original photos and film footage whilst a full live band perform all their hits including ‘Mrs Robinson’, ‘Cecilia’, ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, ‘Homeward Bound’, ‘Sound of Silence’ and many more!

So get together with a few friends, and go out as a small group. Perhaps have a meal beforehand, and if you want to keep the cost down, make it yourselves. Perhaps you all bring something to the table, and make it easy. Keep it simple!

Importantly, have a good time, and unwind after the first 3 months hard work of 2019.
