Last Sunday saw a whole crop of new tenants collect their keys and make their way into their new home for the next academic year. Having stayed in the same room as last year, it was sad to see some faces go, however, it was great to meet some of my new neighbours at the welcome meeting hosted by McComb Students. Accompanied by a gorgeous M&S buffet, it was a great chance to mingle with my soon-to-be housemates.
Moving Day…
Moving Day…Moving day can often be a hectic day, having packed your life (or as much as you can) into one or two cars. However, moving in with McComb couldn’t be more different. Each accommodation was allotted a welcome meeting time, where Sophie (one of McComb’s brilliant Lettings Manager) introduced the team and went over a quick welcome briefing.
We were then directed towards the building by Grace (McComb’s newest Lettings Manager) where we found our rooms and began unpacking. Having lived in the same room last year, this meant I was then able to keep most of my belongings in the room over the summer period. This made move in day this year so much easier, in fact I only had 3 boxes to move in! The deal was made even sweeter by receiving a £5 a week reduction on my rent as part of McComb’s loyalty scheme. So, it is worth thinking about keeping your room for multiple years, you may even win a free trip to Amsterdam!
New Beginnings…
Whether you are moving in with McComb, moving in on Campus or another private landlord, the first few weeks of the University year are always very exciting. From moving in, meeting new people, fresher’s week as well as all the competitions and events hosted by McComb, there is plenty going on. Make sure you get your rest, take care of yourself, but most importantly… enjoy it!
