How To Celebrate Easter At Your Student Accommodation

Activities, News, Student Life

Counting down the days until the Easter holidays?

We’re not surprised, given that the celebrations have been somewhat different in the last two years, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Most students go home for Easter – spending time with their friends and family – however, you might also want to do something festive with your friends at student accommodation in Ormskirk.

Whether it be arranging some fun activities and games, like an Easter egg hunt, making fancy cocktails, planning a night out in town or cooking a meal together, there are plenty of cool things you can do to mark the occasion before heading home.

How to celebrate Easter at your student accommodation - McComb Students

Here are just a few of our favourite ideas…

·        Decorate your student accommodation

Want to add a little seasonal flair to your student house?

Tulips and daffodils are easy to come by at this time of the year. Why not grab a few bunches, arrange them in a vase, and place them on your kitchen table or windowsill? They’re guaranteed to add a burst of spring colour to your space.

Another brilliant way to decorate your student accommodation at Eastertime is to add eggs – either real, fake, chocolate or hand-painted by you and your housemates! You could pop them in a basket on your kitchen worktop or stand them in egg cups.

Alternatively, you could simply opt for the traditional ‘Happy Easter’ bunting and drape it along the wall in your room or the hallway. It’s entirely up to you.

·        Treat yourself to an Easter Egg (or three!)

You and your housemates and/or course-mates might decide to exchange chocolate eggs – but you can never have too many!

Next time you’re doing the weekly shop, or shopping for Easter eggs, why not grab one for yourself too? You could tuck into it after a long day at uni when you’re craving something sweet, share it with your friends (if you’re feeling generous), or melt it and make chocolate-coated strawberries.

It’s worth noting that many supermarkets offer special offers across their Easter egg range, so always do your research. Find out what type of chocolate your mates and family like – i.e. milk, white or dark, Creme Egg, Galaxy, Mini Eggs, etc – and see who is offering the best price on multi-buys. This way you can treat everyone (including you) without spending a fortune.

·        Cook some delicious food

What better way to celebrate the festive season than to enjoy some tasty yet traditional food?

You could have boiled eggs for breakfast – both cheap and easy to make – and roast lamb for your main meal. And a toasted hot cross bun and a nice cuppa is perfect for when you’re feeling a little peckish but don’t want to stuff your face with chocolate.

The great thing about cooking together at your student accommodation in Ormskirk is that you can assign everyone a job so it’s fair. You can split the bill for the ingredients and share the washing up and putting away. As they say, many hands make light work.

How will you celebrate Easter?

These are just a couple of ways you can be a little more festive at your student accommodation – you’ll more than likely have your own creative ideas. We’d love to hear them, so why not get in touch?
