If you’re on the job hunt and want to have the perfect CV, this week’s blog post will inform you of what you may/may not want to include.
What to include?
- Contact details
- Summary & Skills
- Education & Qualifications
- Employment
- Work experience/ Voluntary work
- Achievements
- Hobbies & Interests (not too much)
- References
What not to include?
- Personal issues
- An unprofessional email address
- Lies
Things to consider:
Language & Layout
- Write your CV in a formal tone- not only is it appropriate but it makes you sound professional. You don’t want to sound like you’re talking to your friend.
- 2 Pages in length- make sure it looks presentable with clear headings
- The font and size must be appropriate too, nothing too fancy- keep it simple!
Proof-read
- Spelling
- Punctuation
- Grammar
Keep it up to date
- Whether it’s a new job or some work experience you have done- keep it relevant but don’t forget to update it as you go along
Keep it real
- As you may need to provide evidence for what you have written don’t lie
