The days of relentless uber eats are now over. As of May 17th, many restaurants across the UK will open their doors to their eager patrons. The phrase the light at the end of the tunnel has never rang more true, though instead of a light, it’s the glass doors of a Wetherspoons. So, as we exit what has likely been the most boring, and socially isolating period in modern history, here’s a list of places AS OF NOW that accept in-door diners.
1. Wetherspoons – The Court Leet
Everyone’s favourite destination for a night out, Ormskirk’s resident spoons – The Court Leet – has reopened its doors to its band of patrons. With the comfort of App ordering re-introduced to the masses, Wetherspoons makes for an amazingly easy dining and drinking experience – though I’m sure many of those reading this are familiar, and i’m sure many of you can’t wait to get going! An easy bus journey away from Campus, I expect to see many an Edge-Hill student frequenting Wetherspoons in the coming months.
2. The Fat Italian
A family run Pizza Shop on Derby St, The Fat Italian offers a quaint eat-in experience with Pizzas Pastas and locally sourced wines and beers. Pizza places are often regular destinations for anyone looking for a night out whether it be with friends or visiting family or even both! (Though, do be aware it might be wise to get a reservation.)
3. The Old Post Office
Located on Aughton Street, The Old Post Office is not, infact, a post office (though the building used to be Ormskirk’s main post office for decades – hence the name). Instead, those who choose this destination will be greeted with an atmospheric Bar. Their menu includes cuisine from Italian style pizza to fresh salads and accompanying dough sticks. Not to mention their variety of cocktails for visitors to enjoy!
4. Dallas Chicken and Pizza
Located in close residence to several McComb properties, Dallas’ menu includes (you’ll never guess) chicken and pizza along with burgers and wraps. Dallas also operates with a takeaway menu, allowing for local students to enjoy their food without going out -should the past year have accustomed you to such living.
So, as we enter a new age of actual in-person contact (scary) I hope the above have given you a good excuse to get out of the flat and into the world again. Whether that be for a night out at Spoons with your flatmates and friends, or a nice dinner-date with whoever that may be.
