Uni Compare

Student Life

Uni Compare is a must-have app if you’re applying to University or looking to change courses. Download it for free from the App store on your device or head to www.universitycompare.com. Throughout this blog I will be using the mobile version of the website.

Keeping track of your UCAS points

With the handy built-in calculator, you can easily keep a log of your UCAS points, as well as adding any extra qualifications you may also have. You can then compare your total score against qualifying universities and courses without the hassle of remembering each course’s entry requirements.

This would’ve been a great tool when I was applying for university as I had to keep track of everything via my own spreadsheet, whereas with Uni Compare, the work is done for you!

University Profiles

Uni Compare keeps a handy profile of every university on its system. Here you can see all courses offered by the university as well as an overall rating of the university based on Course Quality, Accommodation, Social Experiences and Career Opportunities. You can also find a brief description as well as general university information.

Another great part of this are is you can see reviews posted by students themselves so you can really get the low-down on what the students think about their university.

Get in touch with Uni

Once you’ve had a look at the university profiles, you also have the option to send an enquiry directly to the university. The message format is set out so the information you need is clearly understood by the university making sure you get the answers you want. You can enquire about a specific course, request a prospectus as well as send your own unique message.

The University Checklist

There are lots of clever and useful little tools built into the app such as the University Checklist. Here you can keep track of everything you need to make the big move to halls.

I would recommend checking out the app, as there are lots of other useful tools that are certainly worth looking into.

If you’re making the big move to university, or just want to be prepared for next year then definitely check out University Compare. Sign in as a guest if you just want to check out what you can do or go ahead and create an account!

By Alex Greenalgh

Hi! I’m Alex Greenhalgh and I am a second year at Edge Hill University studying Primary Education with QTS, and yes, I know I’m mad for going into that profession… (I’ve heard all the jokes) but I am keen to make a difference to the lives of the next generation. When I am not in University I enjoy cooking, gaming and the university students’ staple pass time, ‘spoons. My interests will be reflected with my blogs as they will have a strong focus on cooking. I understand the struggles and the endless trawls through Aldi looking for the best bargains, so I want to pass on a few insights into how cooking can be fun, inexpensive and tasty! I really do hope you enjoy reading my blogs!
