Winter Warmups

Food & Drink

With the winter months quickly rolling in, and jumper season kicking off very soon it is the perfect time to start hosting movie nights and duvet nights in your flats. Following this quick and simple late-night treat will certainly add to those!

Ingredients:

  • Milk
  • Galaxy Hot Chocolate
  • Whipped Cream
  • Your Favourite Mug
  • (Optional: Marshmallows)

Method:

1. Fill your favourite mug with milk and pour into a pan. Put on a medium heat for about 10 minutes or until the milk begins to froth.

2. Put 2-3 heaped teaspoons of hot chocolate into your mug, and carefully pour in your milk.

3. Continue to stir until there are no lumps in the drink. Be careful not to spill as the milk will be hot.

4. Top with squirty cream and sprinkle a little chocolate powder on top.

5. Add marshmallows to finish if you wish.

Then sit back and relax with your gorgeous hot chocolate. You could always share with your friends during a film night or chill evening. Don’t forget to check out Amos’ to see what Liverpool has to offer during these quiet winter months.

By Alex Greenalgh

Hi! I’m Alex Greenhalgh and I am a second year at Edge Hill University studying Primary Education with QTS, and yes, I know I’m mad for going into that profession… (I’ve heard all the jokes) but I am keen to make a difference to the lives of the next generation. When I am not in University I enjoy cooking, gaming and the university students’ staple pass time, ‘spoons. My interests will be reflected with my blogs as they will have a strong focus on cooking. I understand the struggles and the endless trawls through Aldi looking for the best bargains, so I want to pass on a few insights into how cooking can be fun, inexpensive and tasty! I really do hope you enjoy reading my blogs!
