Where to Eat in Ormskirk

Food & Drink, Local Info

Deciding where to eat out can easily turn into an argument between friends. You wouldn’t believe amount of times that we have not gone out because we just couldn’t decide where to eat. Especially during the winter months on the run up to Christmas, cooking can become a bit of a chore. This little guide should help you and your friends find the perfect place to eat.

The Barnyard

A great little spot in the heart of Ormskirk town centre. Situated close to all McComb Students Properties. It serves a varied range of food at very reasonable prices. It even has 50% off mains on Monday’s after 5pm, meaning you can easily stretch your student budget whilst also getting some delicious grub.

The Court Leet (Wetherspoons)

Everybody loves a ‘spoons’. Beer and a Burger for £5.99 what more can you want? It’s a great place to socialise even for a few drinks too if you aren’t eating. Come summertime, the gorgeous roof terrace will be the place to be!

Love to Eat

Lovely little restaurant facing the centre clock tower in Ormskirk. Great place for lunch or afternoon tea. Great range of delicious cakes and a very relaxing atmosphere.

Nordico Lounge

Great if you fancy something a little bit different. A very chilled out atmosphere with dimmed lights and comfy chairs. The menu is quite varied so you have plenty to choose from. There are also additional menus to help cater for different dietary requirements. GREAT COCKTAILS!

Bramley’s Coffee House

Nice little café situated on Church Walks in the centre of Ormskirk. There is a very nice atmosphere inside with plenty of seats for everyone. There is a great range of hot drinks and snacks available, as well as a menu for a few little more substantial bites to eat. You even receive waiter service with a smile!

The Cricketers

Traditional bistro-style pub with a great range of food available. The menu changes frequently ensuring that there is always something new for you to try! Not only is it a good place to go for an meal, but it is also a chilled place for a quick drink.

The Sandpiper

The sandpiper is a little bit further out of Ormskirk, however, it is still walkable if you are a keen walker. It is a lovely little restaurant based within a quaint farmhouse just off the M58 motorway. This is a great place for your meats, with mouth-watering cuts of steaks and burgers. Definitely one to venture out to.

By Alex Greenalgh

Hi! I’m Alex Greenhalgh and I am a second year at Edge Hill University studying Primary Education with QTS, and yes, I know I’m mad for going into that profession… (I’ve heard all the jokes) but I am keen to make a difference to the lives of the next generation. When I am not in University I enjoy cooking, gaming and the university students’ staple pass time, ‘spoons. My interests will be reflected with my blogs as they will have a strong focus on cooking. I understand the struggles and the endless trawls through Aldi looking for the best bargains, so I want to pass on a few insights into how cooking can be fun, inexpensive and tasty! I really do hope you enjoy reading my blogs!
